FinTech Belgium Members Excel at Mastercard For Fintechs 2024 Competition in Amsterdam
On October 4th, FinTech Belgium was honored to participate in a unique event in Amsterdam that brought together fintechs, venture capitalists, banks, and other ecosystem players to discuss the latest developments in the industry. The event, part of the Mastercard For Fintechs 2024 competition, featured an exciting agenda that showcased some of the most promising startups in Benelux.
The day kicked off with a welcome from Jan-Willem Van der Schoot, Country Manager of Mastercard Netherlands, who shared Mastercard’s approach to fintech innovation. This was followed by introductions from the distinguished jury panel, which included representatives from leading organizations such as Plug&Play, Fintech Netherlands, Mastercard, and our very own CEO, David Jacob, representing FinTech Belgium.
The highlight of the event was the Pitching to Win sessions, where startups had the chance to present their groundbreaking solutions. The pitches were delivered in two parts, allowing each fintech to present their vision and answer questions from the jury in a dynamic format.
Among the competitors were five exceptional startups, including ByQwest, Finflag, GoDutch, and Pay4You. We are especially proud to announce our members Finflag as a winner in the competition, standing out for their innovative contributions to the fintech space.
The day also included insightful discussions on early-stage investment dynamics in Benelux and Europe, moderated by Vanessa Santagati and featuring speakers such as Maarten Biermans, Friso Roscam Abbing, and Brent Dedecker.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all participants for their impressive achievements and thank all the participants and jury members for making this event such a success.
