Bahrain Fintech Bay: The entry point to the Middle East Fintech Ecosystem

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Mr. Abdulla bin Faisal Al Doseri, praised His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for making the Kingdom of Bahrain committed to nurturing and encouraging the growth of digital banking & financial services. The speech was held on the occasion of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding which took place at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Brussels in the presence of HE, Mr. Abdulla bin Faisal Al Doseri, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Belgium, Mr. Bader Sater, CEO of Bahrain FinTech Bay, Ms. Suzy Al Zeerah, COO of Bahrain FinTech Bay and Mrs. Alessandra Guion, General Manager of Fintech Belgium.  

Bahrain FinTech Bay (BFB), one of the leading fintech hubs in the Middle East incubates impactful and scalable Fintechs. Its initiatives include incubation & acceleration, curated activities and events, research and thought leadership, investment & fundraising, talent and education opportunities, as well as corporate innovation and advisory .   

BFB has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Fintech Belgium, a federation that was created in 2015 by and for FinTechs. It is the first and largest community of 'fintechers' in the kingdom.Its 3 main objectives are to be a platform for dialogue with regulators and other stakeholders, actively and tangibly promote the FinTech sector in Belgium and Belgian FinTechs abroad, and share the experience within and outside the community.

Following the signing, the embassy hosted 18 agencies and experts in the field of fintech representing different entities from asset management to cryto currency, e-commerce, insurance to chambers of commerce and trading investment agencies across Wallonia, Brussels and Flanders. CEO, Mr. Bader Sater and COO Ms. Suzy AL Zeerah held a presentation of the fintech landscape in Bahrain and outlined the findings of the Bahrain Fintech Ecosystem Report that was launced in 2022.
