Treezor, pioneer and leader in banking-as-a-service and embedded finance, arrives in Belgium

Brussels, October 4, 2022 - Present this Tuesday at the Digital Finance Summit in Brussels which brings together the world of digital finance, the French fintech Treezor announced it is deploying its payment solutions and services in Belgium. This arrival is part of Treezor’s international development with the aim of becoming the European leader in the booming sector of banking-as-a-service and embedded finance.

Behind the success of many fintechs

While the fintech ecosystem was not yet very developed in 2015, Treezor took a gamble on launching its own financial services offer to meet the growing and specific needs of start-ups by allowing them to embed white-label banking services into their customer journey. Treezor has quickly become the key player for banking-as-a-service in France and has supported nearly one out of three French fintechs, including several unicorns like Swile, Lydia and Qonto.

The acquisition by Societe Generale group in 2019 has strengthened Treezor financially and opened it up to many new development opportunities, especially in the field of embedded finance, which allows non-financial companies to embed financial, banking or insurance products into their product or service offerings.

An offer for large companies

Today, Treezor is no longer targeting just fintechs. Thanks to the synergies developed with Societe Generale group, Treezor is offering more and more of its services to large companies such as TotalEnergies (EV Home) and institutions such as the Madrid City Council, that want to integrate financial components into their user experience. In practical terms, Treezor's offer allows them to implement payment solutions as well as card programs for various use cases such as employee benefits, gift cards, mobility, social benefits and more.

“Payment habits are changing. Paying with cash is becoming less common while paying with credit/debit cards and online peer-to-peer payments are becoming genuine consumer habits. Faced with this demand for flexibility and fluidity, companies are challenged to offer new payment methods that are simple, easy to use, practical and secure. Treezor's role is to support these changes in consumer behavior by improving everyone’s daily life thanks to its embedded finance offer” explains Didier Lallemand, CEO of Treezor..

First customers in Belgium

For the past two years, the fintech Treezor has also accelerated its international expansion and has an ambitious goal: become the key European player in embedded finance. This aim is based on the development of its business activities in Germany, Spain, Italy and now in Benelux. Today, Treezor already has more than a dozen customers in Europe (outside of France) including Pixpay, Finom, Mooncard, Skipr, the Madrid City Council, TotalEnergies and Bling Card.

Belgium is an important market for Treezor and we see a lot of potential there. We already have some Belgian customers, for example Skipr - the corporate mobility app, Rise - the neo-bank for teenagers Rise and Anytime - the neo-bank for professionals”, says Sébastien Daniel, Treezor’s in charge of the belgian market development. Treezor is also a member of local associations like Fintech Belgium.
