Tailored for Success: Ready for the Future

An article by AMINDIS

The Green Deal is underway since a few years. Applying to all economic actors, including financial institutions - through the European taxonomy, the SFDR regulation, and the CSRD directive - this major regulatory challenge, aims to make Europe climate-neutral by 2050. From this premise, the consideration of ESG criteria in investment management is an essential lever.

Historically, asset management relied on a classical performance/risk analysis, but it is evident that recent European directives have significantly reshuffled the deck. Now, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria play a predominant role in the financial market.

Founded in 1999 by Philippe Grégoire, a Finance professor at the Louvain School of Management at UCLouvain, and Philippe Vandooren, the current CEO, AMINDIS aims to provide a portfolio analysis solution for institutional asset managers and insurers. The goal? To offer an integrated platform covering operational management, analytical monitoring, and report production.

“Client requirements naturally depend on their industry, but overall, investors now need to incorporate a company’s sustainability into their choices,” introduced Philippe Vandooren.

For asset managers, the main demands can be divided into three categories: analysis and reporting tools for clients, monitoring analysis for managers, and regulatory report production. Insurance companies seek operational integration of portfolio management activities, a tracking tool, and a simulation model to optimize asset allocation.

The Platform Dedicated to IRR

Beyond market and client requirements, asset managers and insurers are facing increasing pressure.

In this regard, for several years now, AMINDIS has chosen to position ESG and particularly carbon emissions, at the core of its solution to address the new equation of performance/risk/environmental, social, and governance criteria.

Our positioning allows us to offer genuine proximity to our clients, especially in terms of regulatory challenges

“The IRR (Impact, Risk, Return) issue has driven us to consider the sustainability of investments at all levels: in portfolio optimization, in the tracking of non-financial data, in measuring strategy performance through ESG attribution, in defining compliance rules, in client or regulatory report production, and more. Thus, we offer our clients an innovative unified platform that combines these three aspects of portfolio management,” continues Tadeusz Tombinski, Commercial and Marketing Manager of the company.

In this context, the platform incorporates its own ESG performance attribution method. The logic is to integrate the new constraints beyond the performance of securities... to ultimately optimize the latter! Through the selection of these new variables, it is possible to quantify the consideration of ESG constraints. The goal is not only to understand these criteria to satisfy the market, but also to see what they yield. The objective? To respond with objective values, making ESG a true ROI lever.

Human Touch and European Base

Based on this new paradigm, AMINDIS has developed a tool capable of encompassing the entire financial spectrum, which is great news!

That being said, the proven expertise of the company also provides its clients with several significant advantages, including a decidedly European base.

“At a time of multiple consolidations in the sector, typically through the acquisition of companies by Anglo-Saxons, our positioning allows us to offer genuine proximity to our clients, especially in terms of regulatory challenges,” adds Mr. Tombinski.

In addition, there is extensive support monitoring carried out by teams from the finance and insurance world, speaking the same language as the clients.
“In the end, our solution maximizes process automation to minimize the manual and repetitive tasks of our clients’ teams. The result? They can fully focus on their core business. At the same time, our teams offer them unparalleled proximity and support, a source of opportunities and growth,” concludes Mr. Vandooren.”

With this approach and the resulting success, our objectives are now clear: to become a leading player in Europe in our field of expertise, namely ESG, performance, and risk. In practice, this involves expanding our sales teams and deploying digital marketing on a broad scale. In terms of products, we focus our efforts on innovations in analysis, such as the development of a carbon performance attribution method, as well as providing all the necessary functionalities for the new regulations related to sustainable finance.
